Steelers released Ladarius Green, presumably due to his seriuos ankle injury and concussion history. My bet is this clears the way for Xavier Grimble to become the downfield, receiving TE.

Steelers also released Greg Warren after he failed a physical. Guessing the issue is the torn ACLs he suffered. Both parties agreed to the release and from his comments, it seems Warren will retire from football. The Steelers must have known there was a good possibility Warren wouldn't be able to play this season, thus the choice of Holba in the 6th rd.

Rumor has it was that he refused to show up for workouts and meetings so the Steelers cut him. I can't think of more of a athletic talent just absolutely wasted. Since high school he though he was better than everybody and his high school coaches fueled that ego. He did have an incredible natural talent but never thought he had to work on it.

If true, that's really dumb. It's not like he doesn't have twin daughters to support or anything...

In better news, Steelers and Al Villanueva settled on a 4 yr contract. Good for him. He did a lot, including risking his life, in the Army for not much pay and has certainly earned his new NFL money.
