This is a great opportunity for those of us that follow the Rollers via this board to actually see them in person.  I assume this will be played on a site other than the Rox :) Is this part of the event that was held at Woodland Hills last season?

I'm glad to see Pa. doing something like this and for the teams that travel and stay over night it give the  players lots of time to bond. I remember and I don't know if anyone does it anymore but Penn Hill used to put cots in the I think gym for the first week or more of practice.

Coach99, it appears to be the same thing as the one you mentioned.  They get a bunch of WPIAL teams and have them play top shelf teams from PA and other nearby states.  Rollers-Sto should be a good one.  Both playoff teams last year and the Rollers have one of the best wide receivers in the country.  Only a soph and has a boatload of D1 offers already.  Steel-High plays wide open from start to finish and hasn't seen a pass they don't like. LOL  Biggest issue is the defense sometimes nods off and they get into some serious shootouts. They lost an epic shootout against Boiling Springs 56-55 year before and beat a good Trinity team 78-34.  If it's lots of points and exciting plays, this is the team to watch!

I googled it and found the last 2 years. So apparently the whole set of games are not set yet.

I'm told this will be a 2 day event.
Rollers will play Sto-Rox August 29 at Woodland Hills Stadium.

I don't have any other teams yet.

Well, parking at the Wolvarena is limited.  There is a fenced in lot right inside  the stadium that is paved now. Can hold a couple hundred cars maybe. It is on the same level as the field and you can easily walk right to the gate. I believe it is paid parking that they collect when you enter. The rest of parking around is whatever you can find. A little walking distance is a shopping area with a lot for the stores. If you can find the road that goes up behind the stadium on the hill there is on street parking. They put in steps and a gate. Not sure if they open it all the time. If you do come in up there...way up above the huge concert seats they have nice new restrooms and refreshment stand so you don't have to go down or climb back up. I parked up on that street during a playoff game and came out and my car was all egged, however. Maybe I parked in a residents spot?  There are houses on that road up there. Best bet is try to come early and park down in the lot and pay a couple of bucks. They have good kielbassa and kraut and hot sausage sandwiches usually.

Thanks for the info Coach99. I don't think parking will be a problem as I suspect only a small handful of our fans will be making the trip.

It looks like a great venue though!

Well, it looks like 1 Roller fan will be making the trip thanks to Mrs. River.  For years I had an office at the Gateway complex and when I'd be out there, the wife would go along sometimes because she loves shopping in Pittsburgh.  She saw the article on Penn Live and said. "we're going"! LOL  So I guess we'll get a room at the Hilton and she can shop and I'll see a bunch of football games Friday and Saturday.

That's outstanding!  I'm sure LTB-TV & hubby will be there too so I'll get a live report!

I guess the schedules haven't been finalized yet, I'm having a helluva time trying to get more information for this years' games.

You're probably right Crabber. We'll have to wait and see.
