2 penalties called. Blueger for holding and Arizona for high sticking Malkin so we will stay 3 on 3

Pens are gonna shoot first

Malkin is up and no goal
Arizona up and Jarry makes the save
Letang is next and he is stopped
Arizona up and he misses the net
Rust scores!
Hall for Arizona is up and he scores
McCann misses and Arizona can win it but nope
Kahun denied and Kessel  an win it but Jarry stopped him
What a shootout! Blueger wins it in Round 8 as Jarry makes a huge glove save to win it!!!

That is as close to playoff hockey as you can get in the regular season....

An 8-round shootout win for the Penguins!!!

Teddy Blueger scores and Jarry with the save to win it!

Pens get all 6 points on this tough road trip and are now only 4 points behind the Capitals for first place in the Metro

Amazing what these Penguins are doing with all the injuries they have had so far

It is truly amazing what the Pens have done sans Crosby, Dumoulin, Schultz, Guentzel and to a lesser degree Bugjustad. With all the attention focused on Crosby, flying under the radar is the generally sound play of the d-men. Essentially, the Pens are playing with a rookie (Marino) and what were their opening season 8th and 9th (Ruhwedel/Riikola) d-men on defense and JJ paired with Letang.

Marino should be in the discussion for rookie of the year. And letís not forget about how Jarry took this team over after Murray crashed and burned less than a quarter of the way into the season. Thank God Pens management did not give up on Jarry

Pens' management was more lucky than good in their handling of Jarry. This is the same group who re-signed DeSmith for 3M+ over 3 yrs on the assumption he'd be Murray's back up and had Jarry on the trading block. It was only being so up against the cap that forced the Pens to keep Jarry over DeSmith because Jarry's contract was cheaper and they needed every penny of cap savings.

I'm glad things have worked out, though.

Don't know if the scheduling was deliberate or just worked out this way, but after the all-star/week off break, Pens play 32 of their last 37 games vs Metro/Atl teams, broken up only by MN on Tues, a trip to LA/SJ/Ana and a game vs Chi.

Crosby making his return tonight vs MN. (Makes me wonder if NBC rang up Mario and asked if he could just make sure Sid didn't play until the national TV game tonight.) Anyway, Sid skated on a line with Simon and McCann. McCann's probably the closest forward to Guentzel and should fit nearly as well. That leaves Malkin with Rust and Kahun, Bluegar with Tanev and ZAR and Lafferty or Agozzini with Hornqvist and Galchenyk. If the 4th line is Lafferty between Hornqvist and Galchenyk, I'll be interested to see how they do. Lafferty's speed and Hornqvist's blue paint game might just open things up for Galchenyk.

Iím not happy with Simon on the top line but I guess thatís all they could do knowing they wanted to keep The Malkin and Blueger lines together

No one's opinion of Simon matters except Sid's and he likes playing with Simon.

Penguins dominating and Crosby with a goal and 3 assists.  The team is just flying and pouring it on poor Minnesota.

Pens 6
Wilds 2

Halfway through the 3rd

Malkin with 2 power play goals. Good to see the power play back on track as soon as Crosby steps on the ice!
