Not withstanding anything that transpired but I couldn’t believe they didn’t give up everything the Pirates wanted for Vazquez. They’re still in it if they have a guy his caliber in their bullpen.
Do you think maybe they had some 'info' on what might transpire with Vazquez?  Like you said, you could not believe they did not go after him. Kind of makes  me wonder they did some background or 'a little birdie told them' something the Pirates ignored or did not know.

No. I think the Dodgers vastly overrated their own prospects, like most teams in MLB do. The GM came from Tampa years ago and he forgets that he can buy players to replace prospects he might trade.

Cardinals batting is looking lifeless against the Nationals as they are being no hit again through 6 inning and are down 1-0

Marquee matchup tonight as the Yankees take on the Astros. I'll be flipping between that and the Pens game

Yankees won Game 1 over the Astros yesterday and could've taken a commanding 2-0 lead if they could've beaten Verlander today but the game went to extra innings and Houston was able to hit a walk off homerun in the 11th inning to win 3-2 and tie the series up 1 game a piece

Nationals win last night 7-4 over the Cardinals to sweep the series 4-0 and are going to their first ever World Series

Houston also wins yesterday 4-1 to take a 2-1 series lead over the Yankees. Cole goes 7 innings, strikes out 7 and gives up 0 runs

Rain out tonight means no day off for travel friday. Bullpens will be tested if it goes 6 or 7 games. Clint Hurdle wouldn’t know what to do if he had to use relief pitchers 3 or god forbid 4 days in a row.

Might be more of a problem for the Yankees than the Astros because Houston has Cole an Verlander who are usually work horses that go late into games

Houston wins last night 6-4 in dramatic fashion again to win the series over the Yankees 4 games to 2 and are heading to the World Series to take on the Washington Nationals

Houston was up 4-2 but the Yankees score 2 in the 9th to tie it up but the Astros hit a walk off homerun in the bottom of the 9th of Chapman. Houston also didn't use Cole last night to pitch on 3 days rest so I'm assuming he will start Game 1

Scherzer, Straussburg, and Corbin are a pretty formidable trio of starting pitchers to match against Verlander, Cole, and Grienke.  Bullpen advantage to Houston slightly.  Offensive advantage to Houston.  Defensively, a slight advantage to Houston.  Home field advantage obviously for Houston.

Washington needs to start strong.  If they win one in Houston, the series may go seven.  I'm not sure they should be a huge underdog, but agree that Houston has a few more strengths.  Depending on the odds (I don't look at odds, except for the ponies), they could be a decent bet.

Astros announced Cole and Verla see for Game 1 and 2. Nationals announced Scherzer and Strausburg for the same

Should be some really good pitching matchups in this series

If you're gonna be a massive underdog, not many better ways to go in than Scherzer, Strausburg and Corbin.
