Pirates almost came back to win another one last night. Down 5-0 with 2 outs in the 8th, the Pirates scored 4 runs off a Cabrera double for two runs then Josh Bell hit a 2 run homer but Osuna popped up for the 3rd out and the Pirates couldn't score any in the 9th so they fall 5-4 to the Giants last night

Seems there was an altercation in the clubhouse last night between Vazquez and Crick.  It was band enough that Crick had to have surgery on his index finger and is out until spring training.

Both players were fined.
Just another example that Hurdle has lost..or has no control over his team. The fact it was a starting pitcher vs. relief guy...probably over the relief corps just giving games away. No one  on that coaching staff knows how to handle pitchers.

It was two relievers, Crick vs. Vazquez.

Apparently, Crick doesn't care for "special treatment" for other players.
That was also, reportedly, at the center of the Kela problem, AND the bullpen coach problem...

Clint Hurdle HAS to go!

In the 8th inning of last night's 5-4 loss, the Pirates (AGAIN) had the bases loaded, nobody out and DID NOT SCORE!

Maybe Crick's the problem and not Hurdle here.

Vazquez was getting special treatment. He wasnt being used by game situation. He pitches more or less on a schedule. He knows if hes pitching before the game even starts.

I doubt that's by Vasquez' request, though. It's probably something dictated by Huntington/stats gurus.

According to Stan Savran (still the most intelligent sports talk in Pittsburgh), Vazquez instigated the Crick incident...

Post-Gazette story concurs...

My point in THIS matter about Hurdle is this:

Kela had an issue
Bullpen coach had an issue
Crick/Vazquez had an issue

Hurdle isn't managing the lead-up.  He's reacting to the issues.
That's not leadership.

But it certainly doesn't surprise me with him.

Vazquez pitches in 3 of 4. Glad hes rejuvenated after all his resting earlier in the season.
