Push will come to shove in the near future. MLB knows certain owners are bad for the game and things will change. The Royals guy read the tea leaves and sold. Nutting will soon too I think.

Nutting could set his family up for several generations to come by selling, but he likes making a nice, steady yearly profit more. I fervently hope the prospect of walking away with close to 1B would entice him to sell, but I'm not holding my breath.

I bought tickets for Sunday’s game.  Will be taking my 2 year old to his first game with my parents and my wife’s parents.

Bought them through online promotion for 10 a ticket plus included 5 dollar concession credit with each ticket.

Pirates lose last night 10-1 to the Cardinals

Pirates still 1 win away from staying away from that 100 loss season with 20 games to go. Record is 62-80

Cardinals score 2 today and that is all they needed as the Pirates fail to score any runs at all and lose 2-0 and lose another series

Cole is what he is, a guy who throws a lot of pitches, mostly fastballs, and rarely gets past the 7th inning. He's a good, not great, pitcher on a very good team playing for an organization that wants to win.

He won’t pitch until after the draft next season because he will hold out for much more money than he’s worth.

ONLY 5 guys in MLB have thrown more innings lololol.

Innings Pitched
1.   Verlander    200.0
2.   Bauer    191.2
3.   Minor    189.2
4.   Bieber    188.2
5.   Strasburg    185.0
6.   Cole     184.1

And he leads MLB in strikeouts with 281 (almost 14 per 9 IP) and it's not even that close after Verlander with 264.  And he's tied for fourth in MLB with 16 wins.  He is more than just a "good" pitcher.  Stop lolololol.......

I hope he does hold out for what he is worth.  Look below at these salaries.....these billionaire owners are raking in millions and millions yearly.

Just for comparison, here are Bob Veale's stats from the prime years of his career in Pgh. Veale was considered one of the hardest throwers of his era also for comparison.

https://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/player.php?p=vealebo01

Note that in 1964, the Pirates were a pedestrian 80-82. Veale lead the NL in strikeouts (250) in an NL that featuered Bob Gibson, Juan Marichal, Jim Bunning, Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax. Veale went 18-12 and pitched 279.2 innings. In fact, from age 29 to age 35 Veale pitched 279.2, 266, 268.1, 203, 245, 225.2 and 202 respectively. He struck out 200+ in 4 of those 7 years.

Seems there was an altercation in the clubhouse last night between Vazquez and Crick.  It was band enough that Crick had to have surgery on his index finger and is out until spring training.

Both players were fined.
