LAA up 5-3 in the 4th inning

Make that 6-5 Pirates as Moran singles and Osuna doubles to bring in Moran. Still in the 5th inning

Angels get 2 runs in the 9th but that's not enough as the Pirates win 10-7 and that is 2 wins in a row!

Iím growing concerned that Williams isnít really an adequate rotation piece for the future. I think next year should not be guaranteed for him. Heís pitched very poorly.

Report just popped up on my phone saying Taillon is having Tommy John surgery again.

Actually it seems he had the surgery yesterday.

Yes I was just coming to post the same thing. He will be out until some time in 2021, if heís able to return. Pitchers returning from their second Tommy John donít usually have success. He is most likely never going to pitch his best again.

The Pirates need to start asking themselves exactly why so many of their young pitchers end up needing TJ surgery despite being on pitch and overall inning counts.

this goes back to what I have said a number of times....just too many injuries with the Pirate players.  Something has to be wrong with the conditioning or exercise regimen they use.  I don't care what kind of credentials that strength guy has as was posted once...he is not getting the job done! He and the pitching coach who hangs his reputation on a couple of over the hill reclamation projects are killing the team.

Geoff Hartlieb might be the worst pitcher Iíve ever seen in the majors for this extended of a period of time. He epitomizes the Pirates season more than any one player. Unprepared. He is unprepared to pitch at this level and the Pirates were unprepared depth wise to have enough decent options to avoid a guy like Hartlieb.

Pirates lose 7-4 last night to the Angels and it is becoming a recurring theme with Archer that he pitches well for about 4 innings and either gives up a bunch of runs to start or at the end and this time he pitched well to start then gives up 4 runs in the 4th inning

A bad 4th and a bad 8th inning did the Pirates in

If he starts well...pull him after 3.  Maybe he could be some kind of relief guy that can give you a few innings. Have to do something with him.
BTW...Cervelli should be retired and assigned as a coach.  He is going to wind up totally messed up for rest of his life if he keeps catching.

We are back to it looks like nobody wants to win the NL Central as the Cubs who looked like were gonna pull away are now slipping and the Cardinals are storming back

Cubs are down 1-0 the Pirates in the 5th and St Louis is handling the Reds 6-0

Musgrove and Hendricks are in a pitchers duel tonight as the Pirates still lead 1-0 over the Cubs in the 7th inning
