Chatham University is renovating Graham Field in Wilkensburg for use by their lacrosse and soccer teams. They are doing a $3,000,000 renovation that will include turf, new lights and seating. The field will be available for high school and community event starting in the fall of 19.
This should be a boost for Imani Christian Academy who uses Graham Field as their home field.
Oh yes improved parking and access is also part of the plans.

I wonder if the renovation would include keeping the covered seating that was a feature..the only feature...of this "historic' field.

I heard yes. They want to keep the roof. But I can’t say that’s 100%.

So on Jeannette’s schedule they have the date for the Imani game open I’m guessing the possibility of playing in Wilkinsburg on a Friday night is a possibility?

I rode the bus past Graham Field a week ago and it doesn't look like they've started any work on the field or any part of the stadium yet.

I don't think you'd complain about playing Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16th, would you?....

I understand work has been started such as tree and brush removal

I just hope they get started on the field.

Back in the day, the conference we were in had a couple of schools that played  on Saturday. When the schedule came out we always hoped that game would not be in Sept.  The noon time start at Riverview was always bad to adjust to as a visitor.  A definite advantage to them knowing the routine.  Canevin always playing home games on Saturday night was a bit of a pain as well.  In high school,  we played home games on Friday afternoons at 3:30. It was always fun to go play away on a Friday night.  I always remember my last football game was at West Newton on a Thursday night. They brought in portable lights for that game. Was last game because my team did not have enough Gardner points to get into the Championship game..Came in third. :(

Just announced today the September 6 game Jeannette at Imani Christian has been moved to McKee Stadium in Jeannette. Graham Field will not be completed on time.
Jeannette’s turf field should be completed in the next few weeks. Rain has been an issue but rolls were delivered to the field yesterday.
