This series will suck up all the National talk and the Pens struggles will likely slide.

Jets beat the Blues 6-3 and take a 2-1 series lead

Fleury and Vegas beat the Sharks 6-3 and also take a 2-1 series lead

And as YIG stated earlier, Blue Jackets beat the Lightning 3-1 and take a shocking 3-0 series lead

TB has always struck me as kind of a paper tiger team. I guess I'm not that surprised they're down 3-0.

I think Murray is an average goalie who can rise above that for stretches. He apparently needs competition to be at the top of his game, though.

Sometimes 2 rings are all you get. Jagr won 2 Cups his first two seasons with the Pens and has never won another. Mario only has 2 as a player. Pens management needs to mull that over before they recommitt to Murray.

Sullivan won't do because Murray's his guy, but I would bypass both him and DeSmith and start Jarry. What better way to judge a young goalie than how he performs under the pressure of an elimination game?

I actually agree with this. Unless they are going to trade Jarry in the offseason, itís time for them to see what he can do. We all know they are not going to win this series so start the young guys and give them a chance

Trade Malkin (a turnover machine who's always a bad penalty waiting to happen).
Trade Kessel (whatever happened to his game for about two months isn't overcome by any 10-day stretch).
Trade Letang (he's a dangerous offensive-minded defenseman, and too dangerous for the Penguins to survive with any longer).

I wasn't even thinking Jarry but yes agreed maybe make the desperation move and take the house money approach. With that said I have heard no rumblings of a goalie switch so my assumption is that they are going to ride or die with Murray.

FTR --
Malkin: full no trade/no movement clause meaning he cannot be traded or waived without his consent.
Kessel: modified no trade/no movement clause. He can list 8 (of 31) teams to which he would approve a trade.
Letang: modified no trade/no movement clause. He can list 18 (of 31) teams to which he would approve a trade.

The news yesterday is that Sullivan cancelled practice and rather watches film, as the teams needs to find a way to figure out this defense that has stifled them in games 2 and in particular game 3. Regarding a goalie change no word or talk of any of that so in the words of the magic 8-ball, "looks doubtful."

Understood.
And, FTR, players in every sport with full or modified no trade clauses are traded every year.

Toronto defeats the Bruins 3-2 and take a 2-1 series lead

Hurricanes throttle the Capitals 5-0 but Washington still holds a 2-1 series lead

Preds beat the Stars 2-1 and lead that series 2 games to 1

And probably the biggest surprise in the West, Colorado beats Calgary 6-2 and take a 2-1 series lead

This is it guys. One win at a time!

Murray has to play better, defense needs to play better and more responsibility and the stars on this team need to step up and score some goals!

CĒmon Pens!!!

Guentzel and McCann on the top line with Crosby and Errey says Guentzel is moved up to the top power play. Not sure who is taken off but Iím hoping itís Kessel

Guentzel scores! 35 seconds into the game and the Pens are up 1-0! Crosby and McCann with the assists.

Are you F$$$ing kidding me! Pens give up a 2 on 1 and Murray gives up a goal right over his glove. This game is now tied 1-1. Murray has absolutely no confidence in net right now. Never moved his glove.

I'm not going to blame Murray on the first goal...it was a 2 on 1. Most goalies don't make that save.

I did not see the second goal (bath time for the little ones).

I will say my point proven again about the refs basically wearing black and gold. Dumolin crosschecks Barzel not one not twice not thrice but 6 times! In a row! Barzel retaliates and sits for 2. Pens failed to cash in with yet another officiating gift in this series. IMO this kind of thing just giving New York even more "us vs them" motivation.
