2019 Players Championship
« on: March 12, 2019, 06:34:53 PM »

Anybody else interested in watching some of this starting Thursday? I love to watch these guys stressing out on that par 3 17th hole over water. 54 balls were hit in the water last year

Biggest story right now that everyone is running with is if Tiger Woods will even play with his recent neck issues. Jason day may not play either due to back problems. Phil Mickelson may not play either but his reason is he just doesn't do good on this course and does not like to play on the course

Rory Mcllroy and Dustin Johnson are the early favorites

Can't wait.  We'll have it on all day tomorrow at work in the office.  I think live coverage starts on Golf Channel at 7:30 or 8.

hs, I love that 17th hole.  I remember Spieth putting 3 in the water and ending up with an 8 or a 9.  Cost him the tourney that year.

I watched quite a bit of the Players Championship yesterday and I have to say, it's on my bucket list to hit a tee shot on that 17th hole!

Fleetwood and Bradley are in the lead after the first round at -7. The Favorites McIlroy is tied for 5th at -5 and Hoffman and Johnson are in 13th with a bunch of other people at -3. Watching the Golf network yesterday you would've thought only Tiger Woods was playing as I think they showed every single one of his shots. LOL. He is at -2

Tiger Woods started off hot today but that dreaded 17th hole came up and bit him in the rear! He puts 2 in the water

Tiger played 17 holes perfectly and butchered the 17th.  If he just pats that hole he shoots a 68 today.  Even just one in the water and get up and down itís a 68.

That hole is a killer.  Quadruple bogie for Tiger!

Mickelson and Spieth miss the cut

Ryan Moore aces the 17th hole. Only the 9th time that has happened

Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood lead after 2 rounds at -12

Rory playing out of his mind right now.  Six consecutive tourneys with a Top 5 finish.  Lots of big names in the Top 15.  Should be a great weekend finish.

Absolutely that'd great.

Would also be cool to have David Feherty film a show from the 17th tee.  Have him there with guys like Tiger, Phil, Freddy, Tony Romo, and maybe a couple other guys just hitting buckets onto the green while talking and trying out various clubs/balls/shots.  Would be really fun.

There are a handful of voices - actor Morgan Freeman, Dateline NBC's Keith Morrison, actor Benedcict Cumberbatch - whom I could listen to them do anything, even read a phone book!!  David Fenerty is in that group for me.

24 golf balls in the water so far on the 17th.

And I agree with your group of voices Nicky!

Agree completely Nicky.  The thing that's making this so much fun is the leaders are coming up with some great shots and then turn around and get into trouble the next hole.  If one of these guys can put 18 complete holes together, they'll win it.  Or, be the guy that makes the least mistakes.

Agree also. I didn't get to watch it all, but what I saw was some fun golf to watch. McIlroy was one of those players that would have a good hole and you would start to think he would run away with it then the next hole would bring him back to reality. And that is kinda how his day went. But he is tied for 2nd at -14 with Tommy Fleetwood. Jon Rahm is in the lead with -15 after shooting a 64 yesterday. Rahm and Fleetwood will be the final pairing today and that is good news for McIlroy as he has not won his last 9 times he has been in the final pairing

Anybody else watching golf right now. Some really good shots happening right now

Jhonathan Vegas makes a 69'7" putt on 17. Longest putt ever made on that hole

Rory McIlroy is starting to feel the pressure. he was in the lead by 1 at -15 but now missed a par putt on the 14th hole and now flies a drive to the right into a bunker

5 way tie now for the lead at -14
