While Capel has brought energy and a couple of nice young players, he certainly has not brought even the slightest semblance of an offense. Everything is one on one. They actually have the highest blocked shot rate in the country. Of 353 teams. Over 15% of their shot attempts are blocked. Thatís a sign of guys getting stuck somewhere they shouldnít be.

Duquesne stages an incredible comeback tonight.

Trailing 41-22 at the half, in which they went the last several minutes of the first half without scoring, they stormed back to win 75-72.

This changes everything for their season. They now sit in position to take control of their season Saturday against Dayton.

Was just reading about Duquesne on Twitter.  Good for them, glad they are doing well.

Really struggled against the zone again for the most part.  Looking back, it's a good thing Pitt didn't play Syracuse earlier in the season, because once that film got out, everyone has played zone against Pitt and they've had no answer for it.  Get the feeling a couple of those early close wins may have been losses had Pitt seen more zones in those games (which they didn't).

Regardless, still have games left against the bottom ACC teams, so have to hope they can squeeze out some more wins.

I know Pitt is young, and that's been a crutch to fall back on, but honestly who isn't young in college hoops these days?  Clemson and now Wake both had frosh as their leading scorers too.

Brutal loss to a downright abysmal BC team tonight.  I know everyone is fired up about Capel.  But they are losing to the same bad teams as last year.  Just with coaches and players people seem to like better.

Worse yet....BC limped into this game as they played without two of their four leading scorers.

Capel says the right things. Stallings didnít. Only difference between them now other than they actually ran sets under Stallings.

Everybody needs to relax.  Capel inherited an absolute abortion of a program yet brought in a top 35 recruiting class in the country. He was here for a few months and still brought in quality kids.  2 of the recruits reclassified and should still be playing high school hoops.

They need bigs and shooters first and foremost. This is going to be a process and let's see in 3 years where the program is at.  He's missed out on a couple bigs recently but it's nice to see them on the final 2 or 4 for these players considering just how bad Pitt has been. It's going to take time.

Stallings was a complete joke and to say their only difference is their communication skills is absurd.

Stallings won with junior and senior experience at Vanderbilt. He was never given that opportunity that people say Capel deserves.

I think both guys stink to be honest. Just donít understand why people are so quick to stick up for Capel other than the fact that heís not Stallings.

Where Capel can be defended over Stallings is what they inherited. Stallings inherited a tournament regular and was supposed to be the hire to get them to the next level. He responded by running the program into the ground very quickly. Capel inherited the worst power 5 team in the country and is being asked to turn them around. Just as a hypothetical, if Capel succeeds Dixon then the expectations for him are certainly different, and if he would have delivered Stallings results then IMO he gets run out of town right away also. Painting Stallings as a tell it as it is prick vs Capel as a skilled politician who can just orate better is unfair to both men.
