Houston is 17, Utah State is 18 yet not ranked in the CFP.  They basically hate any G5 team.

Pitt has a top 20 win and has a chance to get a Top 25 win this weekend.  They have also played 3 other teams ranked in Top 15.

UCF/Temple one of the games of the year so far.  Hope this pace keeps up thru the 2nd half.

UCF hangs on to beat Temple in a high scoring thriller.  Teams combine for 92 points and 1300 yards.

G5 Roundup:

UCF will definitely move into the Top 10 this week.  Fresno has a chance to move into the Top 20.  And Utah State should crack into the Top 25 replacing UVA.  If the committee should happen to drop Texas AM all the way out, Cincy may sneak into the Top 25.

AMERICAN: UCF's schedule is going to go down as one of the worst ever played by a Top 10 team.  Unless Cincinnati becomes ranked in the next two weeks, they will have gone all season without playing a ranked team.  And with Houston still having Temple and Memphis left, it's possible UCF could face a 4/5 loss Memphis or SMU team in the AAC Championship.

MOUNTAIN WEST:  Good depth hete too. Utah State and Fresno are headed towards what could be a really great MWC Championship.  Boise also a quality team.  SDSU as well.  These teams could do some damage nationally once Bowl season rolls around.

MAC:  the East has two great teams in Buffalo and Ohio U.  Shame they're on the same side of the conference.  Overall, not a great year for the MAC.  May not even be able to fill all of it's Bowl tie-ins.

C-USA:  UAB at 8-1 continues to be the feel good story continued over from 2017 when football was reinstated at UAB.  They will be going Bowling again for sure.  North Texas and FIU are also putting together nice seasons for their programs.  North Texas has a win over SEC member Arkansas.

SUN BELT:  Much like the MAC, Troy and Ga Southern and App State are the best teams and all on same side of the conference!  All are Bowl eligible and will be an unwelcome matchup for whomever they draw, as all three are capable of hanging with anybody.

Army is an Independent who I'd love to see crack the Top 25 at some point.  Have a possibility at an 11-win season if they win a Bowl.

UTEP broke their 20 game losing steak with a win over Rice last night!

Randomly I've always liked them haha (their fight song, playing home games in thr Sun Bowl, their jerseys, etc). Go Miners!

They had some sweet helmets a few years back with the miner's pick axe on the side of their lids, will have to do a Google search and see if they still wear those

25. Washington
24. Auburn
23. Fresno State
22. Iowa State
21. Iowa
20. Penn State
19. Texas
18. Michigan State
17. Boston College
16. Mississippi State
15. Florida
14. NC State
13. Syracuse
12. UCF
11. Kentucky
10. Ohio State
09. West Virginia
08. Washington State
07. LSU
06. Oklahoma
05. Georgia
04. Michigan
03. Notre Dame
02. Clemson
01. Alabama

LSU staying that high is nuts.  They were dominated by Bama and only drop 4 spots and stay ahead of a bunch of 1 loss teams.

Basically Bama is making the playoffs no matter if they lose a game or not.

There are 2 MAC games on Wednesday night, and an awful ACC game on Thursday night opposite the Steelers.  So let's bypass those and jump right to the big games, rival games, ranked teams facing each other games and big conference race games:

23 Fresno State vs Boise State

SAT
10 OSU vs 18 MSU
Kansas vs Kansas State
Troy vs Ga Southern
16 Miss State vs 1 Bama
Oklahoma State vs 6 Oklahoma
Northwestern vs 21 Iowa
VT vs Pitt
24 Auburn vs 5 Georgia
Temple vs Houston
2 Clemson vs 17 BC

Wake Forest upsets 14 NC State with a QB who had never played before because of the season ending injury to the regular QB.
