WSOP 2018
« on: July 03, 2018, 08:14:33 AM »

started last night with Day 1A

always like the commentators for this event, Lon, Norman and what ever pro they have sitting in with them.

Defending champ Scott Blumstein eliminated in the first day.

Blumstein shipped like 80 BBs with 10/10.  Not very smart.  I don't have PokerGO (yet), so I'll just watch the ESPN coverage unless someone I like makes a deep run.

I don't watch a ton of tv anymore so I don't watch much. However competing in this is on my bucket list!

Probably haha. I played a lot in my 20s but not much, and with kids I don't forsee a Vegas trip for a long while unless it is work related. I do the occasional church type of game.

I see them making folds I could never make, mucking starting hands I could never do and making moves that if I did, I'd be quivering all over.

probably just save myself $9,975.00 and stick with my monthly home game but hey who knows.

I would be dead money for sure.

My buddy was on the rail last night for Hellmuth's 15th bracelet and for the main event bubble.  I was jealous.

Final table has been fun.  Kid looking to win Main Event for a second time was bounced in 5th place.  Dyer has been massive chip leader for a while but Miles has been running hot and finally took over the chip lead.  First big mistake by Dyer at the final table.

I too have enjoyed this final table.

playing well paced, no hoods, shades and excessive tanking, just good poker.

shocked to wake up to see Dyer short stacked.

I'l make it as long as I can tonight. I remember one year I woke up Sunday morning and they still were playing.

Final Table got down to heads up quickly.  Cynn had the Tournament and nearly 9 million won, but folded a small pair when Miles went all in on a stone cold bluff.  I went to bed around 1 AM and expected it to be over this morning, but they are still playing.

Now it is over as Cynn wins with K J and flops a set of K.  Miles was bluffing at the wrong time and the turn was bad as he paired his 8 and decided to go all in.

Cynn took a while to call in what should have been an easy decision.  It was kind of a slow roll and I can see how some would have been ticked off about it.

lasted about as long as KR

they were indeed still playing Sunday A.M.  kind of an anticlimactic finish as Miles was drawing dead when they flipped the cards.

very enjoyable tournament and I'm 9,975 dollars richer for not having played!
