Well if Huntington likes to use analytics he should help out his manager. Letting the guy with 12 walks in 317 plate appearances bat leadoff isnt something an analytically inclined organization would do.

Pirates beat Washington 6-3.  Nova gave up a few homers including one that Harper destroyed to dead center but they were solo shots so no real
Damage.

Take advantage of this team while they are struggling! Washington has a pitcher going tonight that since he has come off of the DL is 0-1 with a 11.42 ERA in 2 starts

Nice win Bucs!  At one point, I was like thank god there's no Block, Wehner, Walk tonight.  And then by the 4th inning I was like I kind of miss Block, Wehner and Walk.  Tim Kirkjian I kind of like for some reason, not sure why.  So I was putting up with him.  As much as i usually hate Wehner/Walk, I guess you grow accustomed to hearing the local guys 150+ times a year, for mutlitple years in a row, and end up actually wanting to hear them during a Pirate game.

Don't want to start a big who should/will be traded topic, but I'll miss Cervelli and his fiery attitude if he gets dealt.  Loved him getting in Eaton's face last night.  I know he may/should be traded and whatnot.  Still like him though and would miss him.

I don't think she was one of the announcers last because she usually does the Sunday night baseball games, but I like that Jessica Mendoza that ESPN uses in the booth. She knows what she is talking about and she is very easy on the eyes

Pirates lose last night to the Nationals 5-1. Musgrove gives up a 2 run homer in the 5th and Washington then has a 3 run 6th inning to all but put the game away. Brault came in for the 6th inning, walked in two runs and gave up an RBI single. I went to bed after that. Musgrove did strike out 9 in his 5 innings of work.

Everyone else in the NL Central won last night so the Pirates are back to 12.5 games out of first and 1.5 games out of last place

5 Pirates pitchers combined for a 5 hit shutout with starter Williams getting the W and their All-Star the S.

2-0 final.

BTW, I almost fell out of my chair Sunday afternoon, listening to the NH Show....

The Pittsburgh Pirates General Manager said that the team is realizing that they may have to become more aggressive on the bases because they are not able to count on the home runs....

REALLY?  The team is just realizing that?  Are you FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?

Watch them play like piss every night, and then worked in Altoona today as they get a nice win and outing from TW!!  I was able to listen on Sirius Radio on the way home down the mountain though so that was good.

Brewers in town all weekend!

Not sure why Meadows isn't seeing the field as Luplow is playing RF and batting 5th.  Marte and Dickerson are the others in the OF.

Now, with his 0-2 night, Luplow is 1-for-8 this season with the Bucs....and he's in the FIVE spot in the lineup.
This is borderline manic from the manager with the crayons writing the lineup.

Now, after a gawd-awful Diaz at-bat and a walk to Freese, Luplow lines softly into a doubleplay...all while Meadows sits and watches...

61 Pirate lead in the 9th is getting interesting.  Vazquez got squeezed on what would have been strike 3.

No matter as Double Play ends the game.

Hurdle wants Meadows to go down. Hes played these games since he was hired. He puts Huntington in an impossible position.

I couldn't agree with this more. Glad to see the Pirates win tonight but it is very frustrating not to see Meadows in the lineup for this many games.

Rodriguez will be back after the all star break. I assume for Moroff.

Luplow I have no problem with being here. Hes not a prospect and hes not wasting away on the bench. Id rather see Osuna playing in triple A. And I feel like Frazier will probably come back for Meadows sooner than later. I dont think we will see a bunch of trades. Nobody will want Harrison or Freese. Mercer maybe, and Kevin Newman would come up but hes a non prospect to me. First round pick in 20-5 who hasnt even hit 10 career home runs in the minors. If hes not a .315 hitter hes worthless.
