2018 US Open Golf

Shinnecock has been a bloodbath thus far this morning!  Unbelievably high scores from so many big stars.  Will be interesting what the afternoon brings!

Well, the afternoon started out with Tiger triple bogeying the first hole and no one is still more than 1 under.  Sort of fun to watch!  If the wind goes all 4 days, someone may win with a record high score.

Still rough going for everyone.  The worst of the bunch was Scott Gregory who shot a 22 over 92!!

Love the US Open and it is great watching these guys being tested on a course this hard.  No way I would break 200 on this course.

The poor kid who shot 92 had me wondering if someone shooting 100 was possible.

Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Rory McLroy and Jason Day all missed the cut and I'm sure a lot of people were picking 1 of them to win it all

Dustin Johnson is showing why he is the #1 player in the world as he is in the lead with a 4 under par total after 2 rounds.

As KR said earlier, this course is playing very difficult and a lot of players are openly criticizing the course. Boo Hoo if you ask me. Players need to learn that length off the tee is not everything and they need to learn strategy and to just keep it in the fairway sometimes. Sometimes par is a good score for a hole

The US Open is the one time of year the players get tested so they should just suck it up.  There’s a reason it is called Golf’s Hardest Challenge.

Phil Michelson just lost his mind as he blew a putt that was likely going off the green, before he hit it while it was moving. Ends up taking a 9 after the penalty and some are saying he should be disqualified. He is 20 shots back and looks like he is irritated with the setup of the course.

This course is playing damn near impossible today. The leader Dustin Johnson is +5 through 10 holes so far and is down to +1 for the tourney and is now in a tie for the lead.

If you don't tee off in the morning you are in for a wild ride with this course. Several people in the morning shot under par because the course still was holding a little moisture but as soon as the sun comes put the course dries out and it looks like these guys are putting in a parking lot!

Wow! Dustin Johnson bogeys the final hole and shoots a 7 over ton fall back into a 4 way tie for the lead at +3.

Really shaping up to be a great final round tomorrow

Should be a great final round.  I wonder if anyone has ever won one of the majors with an over par score??

Has happened quite often in the US Open.  Looked it up and has happened 28 times.  Worst winning score is +11 is the 1930s.

Most recent over par score was +5 is 2006 and 2007.

Might happen today also. Leader right now is +1. Course is playing a lot better for these guys today. It's like they are throwing darts at the flags. Fleetwood just finished up by shooting a 63 today and finished up at +2.

Still a couple people on the course but Bruce Koepka will be the 2018 US Open champion shooting an overall +1 over par. He is also back to back US Open champion as he won last year also

Very entertaining US Open this year IMO

I enjoyed it too and golfers complain too much about the course.  It is 1 time a year they can’t over power and destroy a course.  It also gets hackers like me wanting to play a course this tough to see if I could even break 200.

Lol. Playing  (and losing big) at, say, Royal Troon in Scotland is on my bucket list!
