At 11-4, this is the Pirates best start through 15 games since 1992 (12-3).
It is just the fourth time since the turn of the century that the Bucs are over .500 15 games in (2009--9-6, 2003--8-7, 2002--10-5).
In the 2002 season, the Bucs finished April over .500, and didn't have a .500 record in any month thereafter (and not many .500 months in any year until 2012).

If Harrison is out, Osuna will be recalled and Sean Rodriguez will play 2nd for the duration. I know Frazier has been an infielder, but he has a shaky glove and is a much better OF.

The play of Dickerson has left Frazier in a tough spot.  He's destined to play much less than expected as an outfielder (spot starter only, barring an OF injury), but his offense will probably be the kicker over Rodriguez at 2B.  That would still leave Rodriguez available for his late inning (defensive versatility) utility role.  The added kicker with Frazier (over Rodriguez at 2B) is the ability to lead off.  Lot's of good hitters don't always make good lead off guys.  He's a very good contact (eye at the plate) hitter, even if he's not a serious threat to steal bases.  Dickerson could be another option as a lead off hitter, but he's probably no better at stealing bases than Frazier is.  Kind of a wash in that category.

Offensively, Osuna would be the most capable call up, but as expressed previously, he'd have no position available except 4th outfielder.

Josh Harrison has sustained a fracture of the 5th metacarpal in his left hand.
He is expected to be out approximately 6 weeks.

There you go, B-Track.  You got what you wanted.

I root for a team that's won 73% of its games to this point.
I can't get to a place to root for a significant piece of the everyday lineup to get hurt.

The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed infielder Josh Harrison on the 10-day disabled list with a fracture of the 5th metacarpal bone in his left hand.
The club also optioned right-handed pitcher Dovydas Neverauskas to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Infielder Max Moroff has been recalled from Indianapolis. Moroff will wear uniform #38
In addition, left-handed pitcher Enny Romero has officially joined the team. Romero will wear uniform #72.

I donít want to see anybody get hurt. But I think Frazier is the better option and 6 weeks from now we will be happy that Harrison is once again back to utility.

Quote from: BALDWINTRACK
Harrison got hit by pitch and left the game. Hopefully heís out a few months and Moroff comes up.

Just to clarify. Yes I want Harrison injured. Nothing personal. But the manager insists on batting a guy who canít get on base 30% of the time lead off every day. Best thing for the team is if that player is unavailable.

I'm calling BS on that, B-Track.  You CLEARLY indicated that you were hopeful Harrison was injured, not just hurt.
You CLEARLY indicated you were hopeful Harrison was injured sufficiently to be out a few months.

Another poor start by Brault....walk, RBI double, wild pitch, RBI ground out--down 2-0, three batters into the game.
Retire 9 straight, then walk, groundball single, 0-2 on Story, misses twice fishing and hangs a curve--5-0 Rockies.

Regarding Harrison  (vs Frazier or anyone) it is never good on a team with a low payroll and not a ton of depth to lose anyone to injury, period. I can't rationalize any good out of this.

I don't know who has what level of belief right now (in terms of the team winning 78 games (to get above the Vegas over/under) or 82 games or making the playoffs or winning the division), but to attain any of those milestones IMO they need health on their side.

Just wondering..are those 'adults' that dress up like Pirates paid to show up at the games?

Gotta love Frazier's 0-8 since Harrison got hurt, eh, B-Track?

Sure glad that Harrison's .323 on-base percentage got hit and broke his hand, huh? That's really working out well.

And, don't look now, but today (Wednesday), we get BOTH Frazier & Moroff in the lineup.  I certainly hope they both do well!
