Neshannock is the only one I've been to in last few years. That's why they've managed to play 6 games, every one at home.

I know West Mifflin has them for baseball and softball, Seneca Valley recently built a couple too.

Norwin has a turf infield.
Steel Valley has a complete turf field.
A lot of teams have been using the Wildthings Satium and W and J for about $250 per team.

I know Armco Park in Butler is total turf.
Wildcat Field in Mr. Lebo is turfed as well.....there was a citizens 'revolt' against installing it citing "health dangers'. Between that and culling the deer herd, they are busy protesting in Lebo.

It's a nice park. I think 4 high schools( 1 in WPIAL, Butler) regularly use it for some of their games and lots of rec orgs rent it out as well. Been up there a lot since the reopening. My brother was at the boxing match they had after the renovation.

It would be a good spot for district championships if it was more central to whatever district Karns City and Moniteau are in.

It's half turf.  The infield only is turf while the outfield is natural grass.

We won our first section game 5-0 over Ellwood City today. 2-hitter

Cam Kern pitched, 6.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 8 K. Biggie Solomon got last out(K)

Brickner 2-4 RBI
Pagley 2-3 RBI
Filauri 2-4 with a 2b
Solomon 1-2, 2b, RBI, sac bunt, BB

They faced a Busby so I'm sure they were more confident than usual, they chased him after 1.2 IP

Today they played at Avonworth and lost 5-4. So 1-1 in section

Play Riverside tomorrow

That'd of been a big one for you guys to grab.  We scrimmaged Avonworth before the playoffs last season, nice little program over there up on the hill.  Players were very fundamentally sound.

We got bagged again today.  Our field is doing everything it can to hold on to every little drop of moisture but hey, 70 degrees is on the way!

BF has an important home section game vs Riverside today. I'm going to guess Cam Kern will pitch, but aside from Kern and Brett Woodley, the pitching is pretty inexperienced. Looks like a nice sunny day, too.

Went down and watched the first couple innings of BF/Riverside. It was men against boys for the most part. Kern was wild and didn't seem to have much idea where any of his pitches were going. It was fairly windy, maybe that bothered him. BF had a chance to score bottom 1st, but after Filauri singled and stole 2nd, someone thought it was a good idea to try and steal 3rd with 2 outs and Solomon batting. Filauri was out by 10'. Kern walked the bases loaded in the 2nd and got a very nice running catch on a fly ball to deep rightcenter from Brickner, run scored, but Kern then got a grounder right at 2b Woodley who failed to field it. It was a possible dp, but at worst 1 out. That was kind of the end of BF having a chance. The final was 13-0. Tigers didn't have much the look of a playoff spot contender, but the section might have enough subpar teams they can beat and sneak in.

Tigers got pounded by SSB 18-7 today. Maybe the school should just give up on baseball. They had that one group of kids who graduated in 2010, but even though Rowe's a really good coach and is trying his best to gin up the youth baseball program, they just don't have enough kids interested enough to stick with baseball into high school.
