Is this an unusually high number of openings for basketball?  Seems everyday someone is quitting or getting fired.

Former Vincentian and Montour boys hoops coach George Yokitis is the new boys coach at Aquinas Academy. The school hopes to join the WPIAL in the 2019-20 season.

Baldwin hired coaches:
Eugene Wilson will lead the boys
Kyle Degregorio will lead the girls

There are now 2 more boy openings

Interesting hires at Baldwin.

I believe Kyle D was the boys coach at Baldwin before going to BV.

Great guy. Couldn’t coach the 98 Bulls to a playoff series win though.

Dave DeGregorio was named the new coach at North Catholic last night. The big question is will his kids attend NC and play for him or stay at Hampton.

Bill Minear is back in the 15136 only this time it's at Montour.  He was named coach.  That's a really good hire

Unfortunately most likely heading to NC.  Isaac was all section as a sophomore this year and they have not been attending any open gyms in Hampton since the announcement was made.

Hadn't heard this before, but Mike Bires' column in the BC Times today notes that Andy Podbielski resigned at Beaver as well as the coach at Quigley Catholic. I think Podbielski teaches at Riverside, not sure where he lives, though.

Good guy and good coach. Good hire for CWNC, but if he thought there were headache parents at NA, it might be worse at CWNC.

How old is Nesser.  Seems he has been around for years..or maybe I am thinking of someone else.

We'll see if it was a good move. Yough basketball was in a slump for a few years before Copeland was hired and performed a miracle for the Cougars  his first year as head coach. Then it went downhill ever since.

Yough taking Nesser from GCC is sort of like the GCC/Yough roundabout of Jim Farrell. Jim Farrell was the head coach at South Huntingdon (now part of Yough), then went to be head coach of GCC, then came back to South Huntingdon in its last year or two, then went back to be head coach at GCC, then became head coach at Yough, then possibly GCC again.

Nesser started head coaching at Yough, then went to GCC, then Elizabeth Forward then Jeannette, then Hempfield.   Now he will be back at Yough again. Nesser graduated from GCC.

We can assume there was hardly a need for new teacher orientation for those two. This is all from my shrinking memory.
