Oliver Luck, Andrewís dad, was named commissioner of the XFL.  He is leaving his role working for the NCAA.

St Louis was announced as the first city to receive an XFL team. Smart move as they have no NFL team and the new AAF isnít having a team there either.

The XFL announced the 8 cities and venues being used for their season starting in 2020:

New York/New Jersey: Metlife Stadium
Seattle: CenturyLink Field
Tampa: Raymond James Stadium
St Louis: The Dome at America's Center
Dallas: Globe Life Park (home of MLB Rangers)
Houston: TDECU Stadium (Houston University)
Los Angeles: StubHub Center (where Chargers currently play)
Washington DC: Audi Field (soccer stadium for DC United)

As a contrast the AAF (Alliance of American Football) which starts the Week after The Super Bowl in 2019, has the following teams:

Atlanta Legends: Georgia State Stadium
Birmingham Iron: Legion Field
Memphis Express: Liberty Bowl
Orlando Apollos: Spectrum Stadium (UCF)

Arizona Hotshot: Sun Devil Stadium (Arizona State)
Salt Lake Stallions: Rice-Eccles Stadium (Utah University)
San Antonio Commanders: AlamoDome (UTSA)
San Diego Fleet: SDCCU Stadium (former home of the Chargers)

Different trains of thought here as the XFL has put teams in NFL cities and using some of their stadiums, while the AAF is in cities with no NFL teams and are using college stadiums.  The AAF also has all warmer climate teams other than Salt Lake City.  The AAF has a partnership with CBS Sports, while the XFL hasn't announced a TV partner.  There are a lot of players out there that aren't in the NFL that will sign up for these leagues and it will be interesting to see how long each lasts.

It's football.  I'll watch both leagues.

My thoughts exactly.  I was hoping for an XFL team somewhere near Pittsburgh, but sadly no dice.  There were rumors Columbus was considered but obviously didnít happen.

Well, the XFL has made a splash with their first head coach hire: Bob Stoops.

The former Oklahoma coach will be the coach and GM for the Dallas franchise in next year's XFL relaunch.

Reports out there that the XFL asked Kaepernick to play and he also asked them for 20 million to play. XFL is only planning to pay their QB's 250,000

The money from those groups should keep the league afloat for awhile.

It seems this is a "prove it deal" where the XFL (Vince McMahon) isn't getting any money from the networks.  However, the networks are covering the costs to broadcast the games and will receive the money from the ads shown.  The XFL is allowed to make money from the in game advertisements.

Again, I think this league has a better chance than the AAF because there is one sole guy invested who knows he is likely going to lose money at first.  The AAF lost their original guy due to money laundering and had to bring on the owner of the Carolina Hurricanes and he wasn't interested in losing money.  I think the AAF also rushed things in order to get their product out before the XFL.  It seems waiting 2 years has helped the XFL.
