Now it's into December with stops all over the USA, including PA
« on: November 25, 2017, 07:14:00 PM »

Started on November 11 with 6 games at McEarchern High in the Georgia Elite 8 Tip-Off, moved the next week to The On The Rador Tip-Off at Norcross for just the final game of the day along with 13 games in the Jared Cook Classic at North Gwinnett High School and followed this weekend with 29 games in two days on two courts at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School in Atlanta, GA.

That's 49 games in three weekends and they did them all and there is no cost and they have announcers for all games. I started watching the first weekend but then slid back to the 16-17 season and stuffed 63 full games into 12 days to finish that season at an even 1,000.

In December now, I already saw 7 games @ the Chicago Elite Classic and 4 @ the Marshall County Hoopfest. But this coming week starting Thursday could be really rough, besides PA Tip-Off's there are at least five or six big Showcases with more than 40 games total.

GEORGIA'S ELITE 8 TIP-OFF @ McEACHERN HIGH SCHOOL
1. Shiloh, Georgia 70 Kipp Atlanta Collegiate, Georgia 36
2. Lincoln Academy, Georgia 68 Heritage School, Georgia 56
3. Rocky River. North Carolina 79 Hamilton Heights Christian, Tennessee 64
4. Meadowcreek, Georgia 70 Tift County, Georgia 46
5. Norcross, Georgia 87 Miller Grove, Georgia 61
6. McEachern, Georgia 71 Marietta Wheeler, Georgia 59
Meadowcreek looked very much like a Top 10 7A team, maybe Top 5. McEachern and Norcross look like the Top 2, with McEachern for the moment a clear #1.

ON THE RADOR TIP-OFF CLASSIC @ NORCROSS HIGH SCHOOL
7. Norcross, Georgia 74 Gainesville, Georgia 62

JARED COOK CLASSIC @ NORTH GWINNETT HIGH SCHOOL
8. Lanier, Georgia 72 Lakeview Academy, Georgia 62
9. Grayson, Georgia 101 Greenforest Christian, Georgia 59
10. Atlanta St. Pius X, Georgia 67 Langston Hughes, Georgia 58
11. Miller Grove, Georgia 47 Mountain View, Georgia 45
12. Tucker, Georgia 69 North Gwinnett, Georgia 57
13. Shilo, Georgia 58 Miller Grove, Georgia 55
14. Marietta Wheeler, Georgia 76 Cedar Shoals, Georgia 58
15. Duluth, Georgia 66 Lanier, Georgia 64
16. Mountain View, Georgia 64 Berkmar, Georgia 54
17. Allatoona, Georgia 58  North Gwinnett, Georgia 46
Grayson is another deep 7A team that can easily go 8 or 10 deep and early on looks like they will be right there with Wheeler, Norcross and Newton to follow in right behind McEachern.

MLK CLASSIC @ HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL IN HAMILTON, TENNESSEE Ultimate Preps

18. Memphis East, Tennessee 68 Columbus, Mississippi 64 (OT)
East was led by 5-11 senior point guard, Alex Lomax with 24 points, while Columbus' 6-7 senior Robert Woodard also had 24 points.

2017 HOLIDAY HOOPSGIVING @ ATLANTA HOLY INNOCENTS HIGH SCHOOL
19. Newton, Georgia 94 Columbia, Georgia 64
20. High Point Wesleyan Christian, North Carolina 76 Gainesville, Georgia 68
21. Birmingham Mountain Brook, Alabama 79 Norcross, Georgia 62
22. McEachern, Georgia 83 Arden Christ School, North Carolina 72
23. Atlanta St. Pius X, Georgia 73 Greenforest Christian, Georgia 52
24. Charlotte Christian, North Carolina 68 Pebblebrook, Georgia 65
25. Meadowcreek, Georgia 78 Fayetteville Trinity Christian, North Carolina 43
26. Brooklyn Bishop Loughlin, New York 45 Augusta Aquinas, Georgia 42
27. Charlotte Christian, North Carolina 75 Atlanta Holy Innocents', Georgia 47
28. Newton, Georgia 87 Pebblebrook, Georgia 78
29. Marietta Wheeler, Georgia 78 Buford, Georgia 65
30. Norcross, Georgia 71 High Point Wesleyan Christian, North Carolina 65
31. Birmingham Mountain Brook, Alabama 59 Langston Hughes, Georgia 45
32. Meadowcreek, Georgia 62 Gainesville, Georgia 61
33. Brooklyn Bishop Loughlin, New York 53 Charlottesville Miller School, Virginia 49
34. Warner Robins, Georgia 67 Grayson, Georgia 64
Mountain Brook #1 in Alabama and Norcross #2 in Georgia were in a tight game for the first half, but the Alabama squad took off in the third and was just to much for the Georgia power, led by their 6-9 junior, Trendon Watford with 36 points.....McEachern, who had not played in 13 days fell behind a strong Christ School 21-15 early in the second quarter but went on a 28-4 tear getting offense from seven different players in the run and the game was over. It's still early but the Indians, like Chino Hills and Seattle Nathan Hale the last two years are looking like they could become the third consecutive public school to finish as the #1 team in the nation.

LIGHTHOUSE THANKSGIVING CLASSIC @ CORINTH HIGH SCHOOL, MISSISSIPPI - Tanager Sports Live Stream
35. Jackson Forest Hill, Mississippi 64 Cordova, Tennessee 53
36. Columbus, Mississippi 62 Hazel Green, Alabama 52
37. Baton Rouge Madison Prep, Louisiana 76 Olive Branch, Mississippi 66
38. Cleveland Central, Mississippi 29 Columbus New Hope, Mississippi 54
39. Memphis Whitehaven, Tennessee 47 Jackson Forest Hill, Mississippi 45
40. Baton Rouge Madison Prep, Tennessee 47 Columbus, Mississippi 42
The game between Madison Prep and Olive Branch was a battle between teams in the top 2 or 3 in Louisiana and Mississippi. Madison Prep was led by Kobe Julien 6-6 senior, Louisiana-Lafayette commit with 22 Points and 7 Rebounds. Josh LeBlanc 6-7 senior, Georgetown commit added 13 points. Olive Branch was led by 6-8 junior DJ Jeffries' 22 Points 16 Rebounds and 6-2 senior point guard Kelvin Allen added 15 points.

OLGETHORPE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS @ WASHINGTON HS, ILLINOIS

This Tournament had more than 20 games but somehow there was only one on Flo Hoops
41. Woodlands College Park, Texas 87 Chicago Uplift, Illinois 72

College Park put four players in double-figures led by Kansas bound 6-5 senior pg Quentin Grimes with 35 points. Uplift was led by another Kansas recruit, 6-1 junior Markese Jacobs with 20 points.

LARRY FINCH CLASSIC @ ELMA ROANE FIEKDHOUSE, MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE - Ultimate Preps

43. Hillcrest, Illinois 70 Bronx Monsignor Scanlan, New York 58
44. Chicago Whitney Park, Illinois 74 Fenwick, Illinois 73
45. Findlay Prep, Nevada 64 Chicago Park, Illinois 61

In the first game 5-10 senior Jalen Hughes 24 and 6-3 senior Robert Harvey 22 led Hillcrest .Tyliek Rivers a 6-5 senior led Scanlan with 18 points…..6-4 senior, Valparaiso commit Javon Freeman led the Dolphins with 35 points. 6-1 sophomore sensation DJ Steward scored 33 for Fenwick in the second game…..In the final game the Piolits were led by 7-2 senior Bol Bol with 30 points, while Morgan Park put four players in double-figures led by 6-4 senior point guard Ayo Dosunmu an Illinois U. commit with 17 points.

CHICAGO ELITE CLASSIC
46. Bloomington, Illinois 59 Chicago St. Rita, Illinois 56
47. LaGrange Lyons Twp., Illinois 64 Riverside-Brookfield 61
48. Oak Park-River Forest, Illinois 64 Oak Park Fenwick 59
49. Gray Collegiate Academy, South Carolina 79 Chicago Kenwood, Illinois 64
50. Chicago Morgan Park, Illinois 82 Champaign Central, Illinois 66
51. St. Louis Vashon, Missouri 81 Chicago Whitney Young, Illinois 74
52. Chicago Simeon, Illinois 54 St. Louis Chaminade, Missouri 50

Waiting pays off. I was tempted to pay last night to watch the Chicago vs St. Louis games, but decided to wait the 72 hours, then checked again tonight and they put them free already. So these 7 games would have cost $45, but I just would have only watched 4, now I get them all free.

MARSHALL COUNTY HOOOFEST @ MARSHALL COUNTY HS, KENTUCKY - Tanager Sports Live Stream
53. Columbus, Mississippi 54 Chicago Currie, Illinois 46
54. Olive Branch, Mississippi 91 Adair County, Kentucky 76

61. East St. Louis, Illinois 65 Collinsville, Illinois 64

ESPNU SHOWCASE GAME - DECEMBER 7, 2017
62. Minneapolis Mimmehaha Academy, Minnesota 84 Apple Valley, Minnesota 79
ESPN's blabber mouth announcers make it hard to know you are watching a high school game. Half a screen, talking to others, talking mostly about high profile players. Of the five or six sites that do a lot of big time games, they are by far the worst.

TWO GAMES FEATURING TEAMS IN MINNESOTA'S PRESEASON TOP 10 - Prep Spotlight TV]
63. Minnetonka Hopkins, Minnesota 95 Saulk Rapids-Rice, Minnesota  53
64. Lakeville North, Minnesota 79 Woodbury, Minnesota 64

Tomorrow begins the beginning of a wild weekend with showcase games in places like Washington DC, Memphis, Scottsdale, Arizona, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Pa Tip-Off's and others not on my mind at the moment. Game numbers will be skipped from time to time because of Pennsylvania games watched and not included on this forum.

Penny Hardaway's East team continues to beat up on basketball factory teams. His starting lineup is all D-1 prospects in 6-0 senior pg Alex Lomax, 6-5 junior swing guard Ryan Royce, junior forwards, Michael Dandridge 6-8 and James Wiseman 7-0 and center Chandler Lawson a 6-9 junior. So he will only lose one senior next year unless someone decides to reclassify and go out in June of 2018. He also has 5-5, 6-7 and 6-8 off the bench.

I will see McEachern tomorrow and East for the seventh time Tuesday. They are both in City of Palms, but could not meet unless they meet in the finals and there is a lot there to beat them. But they don't have any of the boarding schools the biggest bracket. Chicago Simeon is making their fourth apperance in a tournament in a month and could meet East in the semifinals. I've only seen Mc twice, they played on NFHS on Saturday but can't watch till Wednesday for free.

I've seen East rip apart two Academy School's that had as much height and D-1 players as them. The beat Prolific by 30 and were up 30-10 after one quarter. I would like Mc, but the 6-9 Jones and 6-10 Akingbola are not as athletic as 6-9 Dandridge, 6-8 Lawson and 7-0 Wisman. Cooper for Mc is one of the best soph point guards in the nation, but Alex Lomax is one to the top senior point guards in the nation. 6-5 Isaac Okoro may be the only edge McEachern has because he's an all everything player. But East's 6-6 guard Ryan Boyce is probably the most athletic leaper of all of them. He can also hit big threes but half the time they don't need him for that.

The scary thing is that both teams have only one senior in their top six or seven. But there are rumors that some of them may reclassify to head to college next year like Jontay Porter and Marcus Bagley did last year. This is something that has just started to happen. Zane Harmon who led Bowling Green to the Kentucky state championship last year as an 8th grader is rumored to be thinking about reclassifying  ahead two years so he can go to college in 2019 instead of 2021. How they do that I don't understand yet but it is being done all over the country.

On another note like that, Minnesota is now letting 7th graders play on the varsity for several years and it's making difference on how strong some of their teams have been lately.

Flo Hoops, they have 10 major tournaments on in December. There were some in November and will be more on in January and February. Tomorrow I watch three of four at City of Palms then the quarterfinals at Iolani Classic. The rest of the week will be hard though as they will also be doing the Chick-fil-A Classic and the one at Norcross on SUVtv starts I think on Wednesday or Thursday.

Well Hudson Catholic, Santa Mater Dei and Mountain Brook are all in their bracket. Mater Dei did have Bol Bol and the Guard from Nathan Hale both transferred out.

Games start in two minutes and won 't be over till 2:30 AM.

Here comes Hudson Catholic and Webster Groves
