Pitt actually played Oklahoma State well today but still lost, 73-67.  Perhaps that is something to build on after the disgrace last night.

next three games are against High Point, Duquesne, and then Mt St Mary's....dare I wish they might go on a win streak?

Pitt beats High Point and has back to back wins.  The City game is next and Panthers looking for revenge after losing to Dukes last year.

Attendance was just over 2,000 again...the total attendance at all the games so far does not equal what was usually at one game other years.

The Oakland Zoo twitter account was even taking the students not showing up to task by letting them know that since they didn't show up last night they wouldn't get choice of lower bowl seats for when Duke comes to town later in the season.

This is the definition of a rebuild and hopefully the team is better by the end of the season.

Pitt wins by 12 I believe.  Was a fun game to watch and I think Pitt will be ok after this rebuild.

The game was broadcast live by Stadium and I watched it through Facebook.  Was kind of cool as no commercials so just showed things happening in the arena and the commentators would answer questions from people watching and commenting.

I fell into some last minute free tickets (in a Suite) and drove the 100 miles each way, and was quite surprised.  Both teams have some talent, although neither can be confused as a top level contender for anything.  The biggest problem I saw for Pitt was a lack of real size.  They rebounded well, but didn't dominate the boards.  Their young freshman guards (Marcus Carr and Parker Stewart) showed me a lot.  Good handles and aggressive to the hoop.  Shot well.  They were 11-15 from the field, and 5-8 from three.  Throw in another freshman G/F 6'6" Shamiel Stevenson's 4-5 (9 pts) from the field, and you have a frosh output of 42 points, on 15-20 shooting.  Add Luther's 16 pts, and 9 rebounds, and end result is four guys in double digits, and another with 9.  Still need a few pieces, and hopefully can keep the younger kids from bailing, but could be very good if they keep what they've got and add.  Just not what we've been used to for Pitt bball in recent years, but there should be some optimism going forward.

Just left Pitt game against Mt St Mary's, sitting in barely any traffic because there couldn't have been 2000 people here.  Pitt won but wow, they look worse than they have all year.  MSM is a sub .500 NEC team and took Pitt to overtime.

I know they're young and inexperienced.  But wow.

WVU coming up on Saturday.  For as bad as they looked tonight, watch them play decent on Saturday.

Yes, going to hear they are 'young and inexperienced' all year..but they are supposed to be DI caliber players.  Lots of other teams have freshmen killing it ...young and good not young and medicore.

According to the radio announcers, Pitt might have a full house for the WVa/Pitt game starting now.

Pitt played hard vs WVU and nearly got the upset.  Seeing them with a pulse against a ranked team is encouraging.

Ha!  They did play decent.  WVU got a little lax once they got the lead up to 20 and then Pitt finally got some shots to fall.  Found a rebounding presence too, which had been missing and will be important.  Not sure I'd go as far as saying they nearly got an upset, as they never really could get closer than three points in final 10 minutes.  But definitely showed improvement.
