Cardinals won 8-5, their 7th win in a row

Chicago won 8-3

So the Pirates just keep pace

Brewers did lose 11-10. They were losing 10-2 so that must've been a wild game

The Brewers starting pitching is in a meltdown. Nobody has made it through more than 5.1 innings all week. Hopefully they continue to struggle into next week when the Pirates head to Miller.

Polanco left the game with a leg injury. Hopefully this one ends his season. Tired of seeing that out of shape bum lollygagging around the outfield.

I would never wish an injury on someone but maybe it's time to get Osuna in the lineup

Every time Polanco goes down, the team goes down with him. See how many of their next five games they win if he stays out.

Oh I don't wish serious injury on anybody. But this time it's just the typical leg injury that he's suffered multiple times because he's a flabby out of shape bum who hasn't improved anything since the day he went to double A. He stinks and his effort or lack there of pathetic. This team or any other is better without him.

Cardinals win again tonight 6-5 over the Braves.

Looks like they will pull even with the Cubs as they are losing 5-0 to Arizona. D-Backs had a breakout 4 run 6th inning against Lester

Brewers and Reds tied 5-5 in extra innings

Do you believe that about Austin Meadows, too? He's had hammy issues for the past 2 years and missed big chucks of last season and this because of them.

Have never seen Meadows play. But yes his injuries concern me to the point where I would have traded him.

Blue Jays 7 Pirates 1. Was over as soon as it started with a Blue Jays 5 run 1st. Off tomorrow thankfully. The hitters have been hapless in this 5 game road trip other than Thursday.

I am totally confused on Hurdle's coaching ways sometimes.

Why did Josh Bell get the day off today? 3 games out of first, they need to win this game to win the series and he takes the 2nd most RBI producer out of the lineup. You are in a push to get into the playoffs, nobody should be "resting"

Why was Cervelli in the lineup today? It was obvious yesterday that is hand is bothering him. I can't imagine the pain he must feel when he catches every fastball. Diaz should've been brought up and Diaz when he was sent down was batting 100 points higher than Cervelli and 200 points higher than Stewart.

And IMO, Polanca should be shut down for the year. He stated today his hamstring feels worse now than it did the first time he was on the DL for it. Osuna should be in right field for the rest of the season. Let him learn the position and get his bat in the lineup (even though he had a bad day at the plate today). Bell should be at first and Jaso and Rodriquez should be coming off the bench. As I think BT posted earlier, Hurdle is now going to get Serpico in the lineup any way he can

This team really frustrates me sometimes

Cubs win today and take 2 out of 3 from the Diamondbacks

Brewers also win today and are 2 games back of the Cubs

Cardinals come back down to earth and lose today and are 1 game back of the Cubs

Pirates are 4 games back
