Anyone know what the percentage of schools in PA are private?

Say it's 33%, those girls hoops teams are doing well

Out of the 6 football championships, only AAA (Middletown & Beaver Falls) and AA (Southern Columbia and Steel Valley) didn't have at least one private school in the finals.

AA-AAA dont have many private schools on this side of state. We haven't faced a private school in over 2 years and had 3 games against private schools in last 10 years and none are on schedule in 2017. We won every game(2 vs Summit, 1 vs GCC). Only real threat in our enrollment range is Seton LaSalle, we haven't seen them since 2004(L). 4 games against private schools in 13 years. Summit and GCC are more A-AA range.

Even hoops(lot more private schools in low classes that dont have football teams) and baseball we dont see many private schools unless we get to states. Back in 90s, North Catholic had better enrollment and I remember both the girls and boys losing to them in WPIAL playoffs, girls did a couple times.

Even with a lack of private schools, D7 probably leads the state in recruiting/"athletic intent" hearings. Vast majority involve 2 public schools. People find a way to moan no matter what. Winning breeds jealousy, when a kid transfers to good footballing schools, the busybody's come out the woodwork making accusations. I personally dont think the parent/athlete should be punished if they decide to move to a district for the sole reason of a better athletic opportunity. If a coach or booster is buying homes or paying rent to get athletes living in the district, then yeah go after them. If a parent moves to a new district or lies about an address and drives the kid everyday(my nieces did this for entire time they were in school, they weren't dragged to a hearing by BFSD for cheerleading, band or playing softball at Blackhawk) on their own, why should I care? It's their kid, none of my business if they want to improve them or screw them up whatever the case may be.

I'm convinced 6 classes came about to please the participation trophy generation tired of seeing the same schools winning titles over and over. It wasn't needed, and yes I realize we probably wouldn't of won our WPIAL and PIAA title without it, doesn't make me a fan
