Just beat me to it lol!

Bonino 4 yrs $16.4 w/the Preds. At least he did not go to Washington.

Daley 3 yrs over $9 million w/Detroit.

And the Hunwick deal was 3 yrs at over $6 million.

Sad to see Bonino especially but both of those guys who contributed, but best of luck to both. They earned their paydays.

Pens just signed Niemi 1 yr $700k.

I like the signing. That is about as cheap and low risk as one can get. So it is low risk low to medium reward, which is fine since they believe I'm Murray and Jarry.

Niemi to Pens for 1 year and $700,000.  I am ok with that deal.

Niemi is fine for a 1 year back up. Maybe Buckley can help restore his confidence. They seem to have overpaid for Hunwick, but I guess they were looking for specific traits and he fit them. I think they'll wait awhile to sign another center until everything shakes out including whatever Cullen decides.

Not sure I get Nashville. They left Neal unprotected, then signed Bonino - a year older and not as offensively talented - to only a slightly lower cap hit and more years.

Daley's contract looks fair and not a big reach for Det.

I'm okay with that also.

Hainsey also signed with Toronto

The Pens have about 15M to re-sign Sheary, Schultz and Dumoulin. I'd think they wouldn't go shopping for another center until those 3 deals are done. I see Sheary 2Mish, Dumoulin, 3Mish and Schultz 4M or so.

Bonino though is the kind of player that helps one win a championship. He helps Nashville in theory, and him not going to Washington is a huge bonus.

Pens sign Schultz to a 3 year deal worth 5.5 million per year.

Probably a little pricey but the signing needed to be done IMO

Surprised he got that much, but maybe Orlov's contract kind of set the market for him.

Pens signed a bunch of AHLers:

Casey DeSmith, g
Frank Corrado, d
Tom Sestito, lw
Greg McKegg, c
Jared Tinordi, d
Chris Summers, d

Tinordi's an interesting sign. He was a 1st rd draft choice in 2010 and I seem to recall him having a good deal of hype. Maybe he'll find his game like some of the other d-men the Pens signed who'd lost their luster. He's a big body, that's for sure.

Been reports that there is some kind of trade coming.   Waiting to see if it is for a center or if just a some screen.

I reported on this a couple days ago. Rutherford wants to trade for a third line center because he is not happy with what is in free agency

Sheary and Dumoulin opted for arbitration. They have the same agent, fwiw. Team can decide if it wants a 1 yr or 2 yr contract length.

Pens also signed U Minn-Duluth forward Adam Johnson to a 2 yr ELC. He spent 2 yrs in the USHL so he's already 22.
