I know this isn't the best Euro League, but Lance really seems to have found a home there.

yeah, he was the playoff MVP last year too, he didn't join Donar until January last year(first half of year he played in Germany) so he probably wasnt considered for reg season MVP. They might be renaming the trophy if he wins it again. The trophy is named after the only 3 time winner of the MVP, but that guy is native Dutch. Lance's first season in Holland(2011-12) he led league in scoring for Aris Leeuwarden

Lance's Donar team won the Eredivisie title.

FGCU grad Chase Fieler won Playoffs MVP this year.

list of season MVPs

the 2014 MVP backs up Jeter and won 6th man of the year

Seems like they are the super-team (ala the old Miami Heat and Warriors w/KD) of Holland.

Lance has games and his stats on his personal website, his teammates call him "The General"

Lance will be playing in France this season for JL Bourg of the LNB Pro A this coming season, the top professional basketball league in France.

France and Italy are probably the best destinations and closest to NBA-like competition for American basketball players.

Spain, Turkey, Russia are the top 3 domestic European hoops leagues. Then Germany, France, Italy, the Adriatic(ex-yugo countries), and Greece(but have 2 teams that can play with anyone, money to buy Americans ). Israel has 1 very strong team(Maccabi). EuroLeague which is basically the basketball version of the Champions League is always won by a Spanish, Russian, Turk team or 1 of the 2 big squads in Greece or Maccabi. In fact the last 16 years, that is how it's been, 2000-01 last Italian team won and it's been 25 years since French club won it(the only time a French club won), and that was the year after the yugo wars started. Before 1992(1958-92) it was the Yugos, Soviets, Italians, Spanish, and Maccabi won a couple. Since 1992 Italy has fallen off, French is probably the 6th or 7th best league right now and it is at it's peak or close to it.

It goes in cycles, Lithuania's league was a good place to play the last decade. Italy and the Yugoslavian league was a power in 80s and 90s. Croat and Serb squads dominated until the breakup of Yugoslavia, that's when they all started showing up in the NBA. Divac, Kukoc, Petrovic, etc.

Rank it like this
#1 Spain(best all-around league, Real Madrid and FC Barca biggest sporting clubs in world but other teams like Zaragoza and Baskonia have a shot)
#2 Turkey(Fenerbahce, Besiktas)
#3 Russia(CSKA, Locomotiv, Kazan)
#4 playing for Panathinaikos(Boston Celtics of Greece) or Olympiacos in Greece
#5 playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel
#6-10 Italy, Germany, Adriatic, France, Lithuania

Greece is like Spanish La Liga football(soccer), the biggest contracts(Europe-wide) probably come from the those 2 teams and Maccabi. Same 2 teams in Greece win every hoops and soccer title for the last 100 years. It must get boring for fans. even worse in Israel where Maccabi dominates.

Germany and France are at their peak, becoming very popular in certain cities/regions

The team Lance is moving to is newly promoted to the top league of French basketball after finishing as the champion of the 2nd level in 2016-17.

Before Troy Nesmith retired he played in the 3rd and 4th tier division. He played in second level as well before 2008
